If you are looking for a complete package, then look nowhere other than Daikin.
I purchased the 1.5 Ton 4 Star AC 10-days ago, and until now I am impressed with what it has to offer. To give you guys a better idea, let me go through the whole experience.
Installation: Installation went super smooth. The installation guys called me even before the AC arrived. I told them that it had not arrived yet. They insisted on letting them know once it does. So, once the AC arrived, I called them, and to my surprise, they said that they are coming right away.
The installation process started, and it was done in 3 hours max.
Also, for those people who are saying that they are charging money even when installation is free, you guys have no idea about how AC installation is done.
According to the offer when I purchased the AC, the installation charges are free. This means that the engineers won’t take labor charges for installing the AC. But, that doesn’t mean that you also don’t have to pay for the extra materials that are required to install the AC!
Also, the extra charges can vary heavily depending on the amount of material needed including pipe, tape and so on. In my case, it cost me 2500 INR, and I am super happy with it.
Build Quality and Design
The build quality of the AC is excellent. The internal unit looks sleek and modern. However, I do have a complaint here.
The bottom part of the internal unit slightly bugles during installation. According to engineer, it cannot be fixed (or removed) due to the backplate that is fixed on the wall. The AC resets on the backplate. Anyway, it is not a big issue, and hard to notice for visitors..so I agreed to not do anything else.
Functionality and Remote
The AC functions as advertised. It cools and cools very nicely.
However, I was not expecting that the AC remote would be so awesome!
It has almost every functionality that you would need.
Few of my key features that can be controlled through remote include Coanda mode which works in conjunction with a fan. You just turn it on and put a fan on the slowest speed. Your room will be filled with a cold ambiance unlike direct cold air in case of swing fans.
I also love the display at the remote. It shows all the possible icons and notification that makes handling AC a charm!
I also loved Good Slepe mode, Econo mode, and horizontal and vertical swing!
Manual
The manual is also nicely crafted. I used it to learn about the AC which the engineers fail to tell me. I told the installation guys to give me a demo, but they couldn’t. I don’t blame them as they just basic stuff. I would request everyone who buys the AC to read the manual at least once to understand the true functionality of the AC.
Overall Value
The overall value of the AC is just excellent. It is affordable and enables you to enjoy with minimal electricity bills(I am skeptical here as I am yet to receive the first electric bill, but I think it will be fine)!

The delivery was quick and the AC was delivered 3 days before the date which is impressive.
I got sms about installation booking on the same day and AC was installed next day.
Installation was conducted by two teenage boys who were quiet inexperienced and took almost 5 hours in the whole process, they did try to sell their ODU stand @ ₹850 but I had already arranged iron angle stand made by local iron works shop for about half the price and they (installation guys) installed the ODU on my own stand.
They drilled a hole in the wall for the copper pipes and did not fill it with anything to shut it so I’ll have to close it myself with wall putty or something else.
The installation team did not overcharge me for anything as I arranged everything on my own for less than half of their price.
Overall the installation was OK and very cheap (825 only)
Now come to AC after installation.
The AC takes quite time to start working but after that time the AC cools very fast and manages the temperature of my large room (230sqft)
Pros-
1- Four way swing
2- Air throw is very powerful
3- Indoor unit makes very less noise
4- The matte finish looks great
Cons-
1- Non convertible AC
2- Outdoor unit is very noisy
3- No batteries with remote
4- No user manual
As of now I’ve used it for just 30 minutes, will update after few days where the temperature rises.

Bought it for my Kerala home and thought Daikin is a know brand and I would like it. But, I was wrong. From day 1, the cooling of the AC is abominable. It starts slowly and reaches at around 90-97% compressor capacity and after a little time starts reducing its capacity and stays at 45-55% then after. Reported the issue to the company and they sent technician from some Giant Air System and they say that ambient temperature is high and that’s why it’s like that. I wonder that if 34 degrees ambient temperature is high for this AC, what would happen to people who buy it for Delhi or places like that? It’s been more than 25 days since I’ve registered the complaint and have called Giant Air Systems multiple times but till date they have not attended it.
My suggestion would is people, don’t buy this brand. Their service is poor and you will regret your decision like I am right now.
Update 14/03/24 – The guy (I think he is some senior tech guy from service team) visited on 13/02/24 and checked the system with gas pressure monitor and found nothing wrong with the gas pressure. It was around 140 when operating and he told me that it’s fine. Then apparently he flushed the gas a little bit and told me that sometimes it’s needed to do so to let the trapped air release from the system and it can help. He did check rest of the operations. He explained a lot of things and some key takeaways are-
1. The display room temperature is always adjusted 2-3 degrees higher than the actual room temperature so that the machine could keep on working on keeping the room temperature to a comfortable levels when people open the doors or windows of that room for something.
2. He taught me how without any equipment one can test and find that the AC gas pressure and other functions are ok. The method is – just go to the outdoor unit and check the pipe temperature of both in and out pipes and if they are somewhat similar in temperature, that means the rotation of the gas is perfect and there is no need to worry. On the other hand if there is a big variation in temperature of in and out pipes, one should ask the technician to come and check.
3. Even if we set 18 degree as the required temperature for the room, it will never really reach that level in practical conditions. So, we must be ok with that as well and I think that’s fair enough.
4. He asked me to keep the AC at 24 degrees preferably and that would give you the most comfortable room condition and I agree with him.
5. These are smart ACs and they are designed to operate with minimal power consumption and hence you may find the load on compressor varying at times.
He said sometimes the trapped air in the system can cause a bit issue with cooling but I am not sure how and if that air can be removed from the system when it is already mixed with the gas in compressor.
First day of use after flushing it was better compared to previous days. The system didn’t drop performance and did some work to cool the room. At 24 degrees, it felt cool enough and I think it’s improved.
Will share more after a few days of checking it. Increasing the rating from 1 star to 3 star for the well behaved technician from Giant air systems ( actually every technician who visited from Giant was well behaved and gentleman, it’s just my frustration with the delay in their response which got be cribbing about them 😉 ha ha haa…)

After delivery, installation personnel done everything on the next day & the AC is working fine.
Pros:
1) Its cooling is very nice.
2) 3 in one display helps to track – Set Temp, Room Temp & Compressor Load percentage.
3) Eco mode reduce the power consumption (you can see live proof in indoor unit display).
4) Fan speed is Awesome (specially high speed mode) it cools the room very quickly.
5) Special features ultra low fan speed, its help to reduce noice level while sleeping.
6) 3D air flow helps to cools every area of room.
7) Coanda feature – its helps to restrict direct hit of cool air in body (tips – use your celing fan while using Coanda feature).
8) Outdoor unit sound level is very low.
9) PCB Warranty for 5 years.
Cons:
1) Compressor starts after 3 minutes. (not an instant cooling)
2) While using high speed fan mode – air noise level is high.
Note: I have not use Dew clean/self clean mode, so can’t comment.
If you want to purchase Daikin ACs its always a good choice.

Cooling is Awesome. Best feature of the product is Self Adjusting Capacity – The Display shows the power consumption, once one sets a desired temperature, the compressor works to reach the desired temperature and then the compressor power consumption reduces. The Width of the Indoor Unit is more than LG and Panasonic 3 Star, which is a important parameter. Another important feature is the Cooling Capacity Wattage of 5000W is more compared to LG and Panasonic 3 Star. There was a day’s delay for installation, had to escalate so that the installation is done, acceptable since it is summer season. Got three thousand discount on the current price due to summer sale offer ten percent credit card offer

Purchased this AC after watching so many positive reviews from various youtubers. But my experience with this product is bad.
1. Daikin has very poor service network and has tieups with third party local service providers where technicians lacks knowledge and professionalism. After providing service and payment they simply cancel service requests (may be to keep whole amount to themselves). Hence you wont be having any official service records of your product with Daikin which might raise some issues if you have to avail warranty in future.
2. Customer care is also of no help either. You have to wait in long waiting ques to speak to customer care representatives. And after that also they just give you general responses which are of no use. They even don’t have any control mechanism to check fraudulent activities of their service providers.
3. Build quality of both indoor and outdoor units is poor, noise levels are on higher side, looks and features are outdated. It displays incorrect room temperature and hovers around 28°c to 30°c even if you are using AC at 18°, thus giving false sense that AC is not cooling enough.
I have been using LG 1.5 ton 5 star AC from past 4 years and have never faced any service or operational issues with it.
In pros – Cooling is satisfactory. Initially I found it on lower side but after couple of days cooling performance improved. Other pro I felt is that it automatically lowers compressor load (in convertible ACs we need to manually change it) Thus might be beneficial in lower energy consumption.

Ordered MTKL50U with inbuilt stabiliser having better operational range & swing compressor
But Received FTKY50U with inbuilt stabilizer having lower operational range and rotary compressor.
Everyone please beware that sellers cannot be blindly trusted. I came to know the difference only after installation and so is trapped.
Cooling is good but this doesnt have option to operate horizontal swing, only vertical swing is operable. There is no separate switchgear for horizontal swing in remote also. (They have it in other models)
Also, not able to stop the swing in one particular direction permanently. It automatically starts sweeping up and down after sometime.

This ac comes with Good cooling and best in class for AC segemnt. Comes with Good Waranty Stylish looking. Having Auto fan speed option it enables quiet operation. Triple Display ,Coanda Airflow, 3D airflow was a Unique features present in this Ac.
It was an auto convertable AC, no need to click tonnage adjustment, it comes with all ADC sensors. Outdoor unit is big when compare to other brand.No second thought for this one, go for it if you have money.

Delivery was fast. However for tier 1 city installation took 4 days after multiple follow ups to Daikin. Daikin need to extend the support scope. Got the damaged product inside the box. Daikin engg informed it’s ok and not affect the cooling.
Cooling is super. Looks is decent. Problem is with the outdoor unit , it makes heavy noise during the starting time around 5 mins then it’s settles down. And compressor takes around 2 to 3 min start the cooling.
Daikin can’t compete only on good products, it need to work on support and on features to make it domestic ready.

Amazon delivered the package safely and on time as promised and described. However we don’t have official Daikin showroom in our city and daikin has given the dealership to an awful place. Even before attending or receiving any calls from the service centre, I was shocked to receive text messages that technician has attended and installation has been done. After contacting the service centre. I got a reply that they will send the technician but only sent after 3days. In the description it’s mentioned clearly that any additional copper wire will be charged extra. The technician insist that I should buy the wire despite of agreeing to pay the additional charges. Thereafter I contact their manager, he insist that customer should buy.
It’s not a big deal for me to buy the additional wire. But I was concerned that I can’t buy any random after market wire. I believe the technicians should get the wire as per the Daikin standards. But they didn’t understand and refuse to buy.
I’m extremely disappointed that a good brand like Daikin had given dealership to a pathetic and awful place. They lack professionalism.
I have never faced such issues in my entire life with any electronics and appliances I have in my house from various brands.
I was not even happy to let people with such attitude to enter into my premises as such I have asked them to leave.
My regular Air conditioner technician has fixed the AC the same day and it’s working fine and I have no issues with that.
I contacted Daikin through twitter on 16.04.2024 though they have acknowledged my message, I’m yet to get any response from Daikin.
Overall I’m not happy with my purchase.
